It's National Mental Health Awareness Week, and I’d like to share some tips I’ve learned professionally over the last few years. I hope you find my posts helpful. Day 1 Be kind to yourself. You would almost say it’s a cliché during this time. Adam Grant, an organisational psychologist at Wharton, and author of Give and Take: A revolutionary Approach to Success said, ‘There is a lot of evidence that one of the best anti-anxiety medications available is generosity’. Imagine how beneficial it would be if it is generosity to self. This leads me to introduce 1st tip for this week, you may have heard of it or seen a version of it, the stress bucket. I have jazzed it up a bit to fit all the elements that are important. Everyone experiences a level of stress, the most important thing is to ensure that your stress bucket has a working tap to let the stressors out and not let it overflow.
